Kijabe School of Nursing (KSN) commenced in 1980 with a class of fourteen students. Graduate nurses from KSN, over 720 so far, are instilled with these beliefs, creating unique health care providers in the Kenyan nursing system.

KSN continues its founding vision to train Kenyan Christian nurses to provide health care to patients in different parts of Kenya and around the globe. Some of these graduate nurses are deployed to provide care in the different parts of Kenya.

Kenya Registered Community Health Nursing (KRCHN)

-3 ½ years. Entrance requirements:
  1. KCSE with the following minimum academic requirements;
    • Minimum aggregate C plain
    • Mandatory subjects: C plain in English, or Kiswahili, and biology or biological sciences
    • Additional subjects: C- minus in any of the following: - physical science, physics, chemistry, mathematics, home science, physics with chemistry and not clothing textiles.
    • Must be a born again Christian and active in your Christian faith.

 

There are two intakes a year i.e. March and September.

The prospective students must pass written and oral interviews, which are conducted by the faculty and the national selection panel.

Fees Structure :- 458,000/- paid in three installments, Subject to review and does not include – uniform, internet/library use (other items may be required that are not included in the fees together with boarding personal effects).

DISTANCE LEARNING (e- learning)

KRCHN
This is a 2 years module based program, and is only for upgrading.
Entrance requirement Must be enrolled with Nursing Council (KECHN), and with a valid license.
Must have served for at least 2 years
Fees Structure 250,000/= paid in four installments. Fees subject to review

 

Kenya Registered Nurse Anesthesia (KRNA)

- 1 year and 4 months clinical internship
Entrance requirements
  1. Must be a registered diploma or degree nurse by the Nursing Council of Kenya, and with a valid license.

LIBRARY/ STAFF

  • The staff consists of highly trained professionals.
  • The library is well stocked with different types of books, ranging from medical to spiritual.
  • Besides current books, library users have access to the internet using our computer lab.

FUTURE EXPANSIONS

Due to the growing student population we aim to:
  • Expand the students dining hall.
  • Auditorium.
  • Purchase a school bus.
  • Most of the graduates from the institution are deployed to work in AIC health ministries, which are spread country wide.
