Outpatients

We aim at offering profesional quality care and our dedicated medical team in the outpatient department attends to over 9000 patients every month. Being a refferal center, Kijabe Hospital also has a fully equiped casualty department opearting 24 hours everyday, that is always ready to attend to any emergencies.

Building on the desire to provide continuity of care, patients at Kijabe Hospital can now be seen by the same clinical officer (CO) or physician at each visit. This is aimed at developing a rapport between Patients and physicians to enhance care services in the Family Medicine residency program.

With the enourmous and rising number of patients coming through our doors Kijabe hospital has come up with strategies that ensure all our cliets receive quality care and this include setting up of mobile clinics and which have also enabled us to bring care closer to our patients.

Opened in early 2006, Marira Clinic of AIC Kijabe Hospital is located 15 kilometers from the hospital. The clinic is located only 400 meters from the major paved road running through the Uplands area. Recently we have also opened Naivasha Medical Centre, located 3 kms out of Naivasha along the Naivasha to Maai mahiu highway. This outpatient facilities serve general OPD, MCH/FP and HIV/AIDS patients who do not need to travel to KH.

General medical services are a large part of the hospital's work. The 5-bed ICU is staffed by three critical care trained nurses on each shift, thereby enabling patients to have nearly one-to-one care. Donated equipment allows for constant cardiorespiratory monitoring, and patients can have assisted ventilation via respirators.

The nine-bed Private Ward offers patients the comfort of five single rooms or two shared rooms. Each bed has its own remote-controlled television and other anemities such as personalized catering services and modern bedding. One room has its own en suite bathroom, as well as a large couch so a relative or friend can sleep with the patient. One of the main reasons for the development of the private facilities at KH is to help offset the cost of treating poor patients, something KH will always be committed to doing.
